Alicia joined the team in January 2019 after completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney. She has extensive experience in the industry, having worked as a veterinary nurse for 14 years. During vet school, she worked in both emergency and small animal practice.
Alicia has always enjoyed working with animals. Before pursuing her dream to become a veterinarian Alicia completed a Bachelor of Animal Science, Bachelor of Science (Honours) and PhD at the University of Western Sydney. Her research interests included animal management and infectious disease. During this time, she also worked as an academic advisor in research and animal health & welfare.
Alicia joined Cooinda not only for the challenge of mixed practice but also for the sense of community that comes with working in this area. She also has a strong interest in small animal reproduction. She has not only spent some time working in a dog reproduction clinic but has also participated in a continuing education course in small animal reproduction. Alicia is a registered breeder of White Swiss Shepherd Dogs. In her downtime, she is heavily involved in her NSW Breed Club and successfully competes with her dogs ‘Kado’, ‘Sassy’ and ‘Sienna’.
Alicia can provide advice on your breeding program, including semen analysis, timing of breeding and artificial insemination.
Registered Veterinary Nurse
I was raised on a farm at Sutton Forest which secured a lifelong love of all animals for me, I have always been a keen horse rider and was fortunate enough to get my first pony at 6 years. I have competed in just about every horse sport but these days focus on Campdrafting and Eventing which I own and compete 3 trusty Stockhorses- “Fairy, Fanta and Breeze” with my Loyal cattle dog “Ferdinand” to keep us all in line.
With horses as my passion it seemed natural to enter Equine Veterinary Nursing which I completed the course in 2005. I then wanted to further my skills and transitioned into small animal practice where I completed Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in 2008 and managed a mixed animal Vet clinic for 13 years.
I have known and worked with Liz for over 5 years and I am very excited to be able to work with her and all the team at Cooinda vet. Look forward to meeting you soon!
Kerry has been a valued member of the Cooinda team for over 4 years. Being heavily involved in the local community she brings a wealth of knowledge of the local area to our clinic. This includes her involvement with Tallong Hall, Tallong Community focus group, assisting with Tallong Primary School and an active member of the Rural Fire Service.
Aside from a love of cars and her family she has a love of all animals great and small. Her family has been involved with the breeding and showing of Pinto horses for 40 years. She also worked for some time on dairy and beef farms where she was involved with the care and management of livestock. Kerry is still actively involved with fostering and caring of sick, injured and abandoned animals – which is hardly surprising giving her warm and loving nature!

She is also a registered breeder of Australian Shepherds, and is presently owned by ‘Bond’, ‘Phoenix” and ‘Jessie’. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys working on her farm, camping, 4WD driving and exploring new places with her husband and 2 boys (with the dogs in tow of course!).
Josie has been a groomer for over 25 years and brings a wealth of experience in both dog and cat grooming to Cooinda. Before joining us, she ran a very busy salon in the Hills District doing style clips, show clips as well as cats. Her favourite grooming style is the teddy bear clip on puppy dogs!
Josie and her husband moved to Marulan 2 years ago, and presently live on a 5 acre property with their animals. They enjoy afternoon walks with their shepherds ‘Nero’ and ‘Bodhi’.
